It's official. Daniel Levy got his man.

It is of course difficult to say for certain exactly what Baldini's role at the club will be at this stage. As I've speculated elsewhere, it's likely that Andre Villas-Boas was pressuring for a DoF in order to provide a level of interface between the boardroom and manager, giving him a footballing needs-oriented ally who can reconcile the targets of the manager with the chairman's demands, and subsequently pursue and close out optimal signings for the club. At a club which has suffered for a long time from tension between on-pitch and financial needs, Baldini could thus be a pivotal player in securing sustained and stable success for Tottenham, and we should all be over the moon that we pinned down the former Roma, Real Madrid and England man.
