According to Guillem Balague of Sky Sports and AS, Tottenham Hotspur have a contract offer on the table for David Villa. They're not the only club that's interested, though Arsenal have not made contact yet. Here's what Balague had to say on his Sulia page.
Villa could have gone to Arsenal in a four year deal in January but instead now he has on the table an offer from Atletico Madrid and one of Spurs (2 year deal). Arsenal are delaying any approach for now, even though it would be strange if they wanted him so badly five months ago and not at all now. He prefers to go to the Premier League.
While this is very interesting and very possibly true, I would take things that Balague says with a grain of salt. He's one of those guys who jumps early on a lot of transfer news and seems to hit big very often, while also missing spectacularly very often. If you go back through things he's tweeted, you'll find that he's right faster than anyone else on a lot of stories and off the mark on others.
In any event, Spurs still have to negotiate a fee with Barcelona, even if Villa likes the contract they've offered him. That could be a hangup, since our chairman is still Daniel Levy.
