Well, that escalated quickly. Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that they have an agreement with FC Twente for the transfer of Nacer Chadli. A medical and personal terms are almost certainly just formalities, and he should be introduced as a Spurs player shortly. Maybe we'll even get to see him get a quick run-out in the Asia Trophy games.
Subject to personal terms and medical, the Belgian international winger will join up with the squad for pre season training in Hong Kong

Before everyone starts to get all GARBLEWARBLE NOT A STRIKER WHAT THE HELL LEVY, it sounds like Chadli was a serious bargain.
Nacer Chadli’s agent has told Belga agency that player will sign for Spurs after medical later today. At 7 million, he is a steal. #thfc

For a 23-year-old with his skillset, experience and goals/assists record, £7m is a great price, even if he was entering the last year of his contract. He's good enough that he'll have an opportunity to win a spot in the first team very soon, and we obviously have a couple of his international teammates that can help him settle in.
I'm surprised this got done so quickly, but I'm happy. We got a good, young player at a position of need for a bargain price.
Now let's go get that other player we need.
