Tottenham Hotspur are scheduled to play South China FC in the third place game in the Barclays Asia Trophy on Saturday, and as of this posting, the game will be played as scheduled. Torrential rain has destroyed the pitch in Hong Kong, but the rain appears to have subsided recently and hopefully the pitch will be playable.
During Tottenham's game against Sunderland, the pitch wasn't playable at all, but the two teams still proceeded to play on it. The result was a very sloppy game and an injured ankle for Jan Vertonghen. If the game does go forward, I'll feel bad for the Sunderland and Manchester City players who will have to play on the pitch directly afterwards.
Andre Villas-Boas spoke about the fitness of some players on Friday. There's good news about a lot of our players who are working their way back to fitness, but of those players, only Jake Livermore has a chance to feature in Saturday's game.
"Jake Livermore has come back to training, Lewis Holtby and a couple of others have progressed and are almost there. Sandro is now training once again and Gareth Bale is also near to full training. Unfortunately, we won't see any of them involved (against South China) apart from Jake, but this is good news compared to when we arrived."
Projected Tottenham Hotspur lineup (4-3-3): Brad Friedel; Benoit Assou-Ekotto, Steven Caulker, Michael Dawson, Kyle Walker; Scott Parker, Tom Carroll, Gylfi Sigurdsson; Clint Dempsey, Emmanuel Adebayor, Andros Townsend
Obviously it's preseason and we're spitballing here. Don't be surprised if the lineup looks nothing like this whatsoever.

Sky Go and Sportsnet World Online streamed the last game, but the sites I check for listings don't list them. If you have either service, check to see if the game is streaming there. It very well might be even though I don't see it listed. This game is not available on television or via any legal streaming services in the United States. Please do not link illegal streams in the comments.
