It seems that Tottenham Hotspur are finally prepared to deal Gareth Bale. The North London club have held firm in denying Real Madrid so far, but the most recent offer may be to good to pass up. Real Madrid are, according to the Guardian, prepared to over €100 million plus 20 year-old striker Alvaro Morata. The price for Bale has been discussed ad nauseum, so the €100 million (£87.5 million) price tag hardly bears any discussion. It's the inclusion or Morata over players like Di Maria or Coentrao that makes this deal so interesting.
Morata, perhaps the most highly rated youngster at Real Madrid, won the Golden Boot at this summer's U-21 European Championships. He's only 20 and has already made 15 appearances for Real Madrid scoring two goals. The 6'2 striker is a strong kid, but still fairly mobile. His style of play have often drawn comparisons to former Liverpool and Real Madrid striker Fernando Morientes.
I would love to have Morata. He would certainly give us the young striker with a high ceiling that we have been clamoring for this summer. If Tottenham manage to bring in Roberto Soldado and add Morata to the core of Emmanuel Adebayor and Jermain Defoe then the club would be in pretty good shape. This will hopefully quash the silly rumors going around about Luka Modric being offered as a makeweight in any potential deal.
