One week from Sunday, Tottenham Hotspur will take the pitch in their first competitive match of the season. To this date, out of the new signings, only Nacer Chadly has played a preseason match in a Spurs shirt, so Saturday's match against Espanyol is likely to be the first time fans get a look at Paulinho and Roberto Soldado. And we could get a glimpse of Etienne Capoue too, though he's not going to suit up.
Soldado's move was imminent, but had still not been completely finalized in time for our last friendly. He reportedly impressed in a behind closed doors friendly against Enfield this week, but that was against a 7th division club. Chadli hasn't exactly been around long either, while Paulinho has been given a break following the Confederations Cup. While they might not all start together, they should all get significant minutes.
Don't expect to see too much of Tottenham's younger up and coming stars in this game. Tom Carroll, Harry Kane, Nabil Bentaleb, Shaq Coulthirst and Iago Falque all played in the Under-21 side's win over Chelsea on Friday night. This is a game for the senior players, some of whom might never wear the white shirt again after this match. Looking at you, Big Tom and RAF Captain Scotty. It was nice having you.
Any predictions for the game? Lineup combinations you want to see? Talk about it here. We'll have lineups and a match thread approximately an hour before the game.

If you're in the United States or the UK and you have the above channels, congrats! You can legally watch this game on TV or on the internet. Unfortunately, the beIN Sport feed is in Spanish and you need it on your cable package to watch the legal stream. If you're a Spurs TV subscriber, it's there too, though I think that's only for UK subscribers. Apologies to our Canadian friends, who cannot legally watch the game today. Please do not post illegal stream links in the comments.
