Yesterday, we passed along a rumor that Tottenham Hotspur are close to signing Real Madrid left back Fabio Coentrao for £13m. Today, Benoit Assou-Ekotto sat out of Spurs' friendly against Espanyol and internet sleuths thought his language reflected that of a former player, not one that will be with the team next season.
Guess who's here to throw fuel on the #batcountry fire? It's ya boy Tancredi!
Ancelotti himself confirmed that Coentrao has asked to leave

Of course, this doesn't mean that he's coming to Spurs, but all you have to do is connect the dots, man. It all comes together. You just have to expand your mind and see the whole picture.
Also, if you're a Tancredi-hater, I understand. However, he's not in the business of making up quotes, even if he is a huge troll. This is almost certainly correct information.
Thoughts on Coentrao potentially joining? Do you think this #batcountry rumor is leading to anything substantial, or is it all a bunch of nonsense?
