Tottenham Hotspur have loaned attacking midfielder Yago Falque to La Ligue club Rayo Vallecano for the remainder of the season. The move represents an opportunity to prove himself against top-level competition, something he's not going to get at Tottenham Hotspur.

The Spanish attacking midfielder played a prominent role in helping Almeria to promotion to Spain's top flight last season while on loan

At 23 years-old Falque's time as a "promising prospect" is at an end. He's going to have to start giving actual results. Falque has never really gotten much of a run out at Tottenham, and has often seemed on his way out. Another season on loan in Spain would seem to indicate that his time at Spurs is coming to a close, even though he is under contract until 2015. I wouldn't be surprised if this deal with Rayo has a option to buy included.
