Yago Falque joins Rayo Vallecano on season-long loan

Tottenham Hotspur winger Yago Falque will return to Spain on loan for a second straight season. This time he'll be playing for La Liga side Rayo Vallecano

Jamie McDonald

Tottenham Hotspur have loaned attacking midfielder Yago Falque to La Ligue club Rayo Vallecano for the remainder of the season. The move represents an opportunity to prove himself against top-level competition, something he's not going to get at Tottenham Hotspur.

At 23 years-old Falque's time as a "promising prospect" is at an end. He's going to have to start giving actual results. Falque has never really gotten much of a run out at Tottenham, and has often seemed on his way out. Another season on loan in Spain would seem to indicate that his time at Spurs is coming to a close, even though he is under contract until 2015. I wouldn't be surprised if this deal with Rayo has a option to buy included.
