Remember last week when we tired to breakdown Tottenham Hotspur's Europa League playoff tie with Dinamo Tbilisi, only we didn't know a single goddamn thing about the Georgian team? This week, as we get ready for the second leg, it is much easier to preview the tie -- it's over.
Spurs lead 5-0 after stomping Dinamo in Georgia and now just have to see out 90 minutes at White Hart Lane to book their spot in the group stage. It's a task that doesn't require Gareth Bale, of course, but it doesn't require Jan Vertonghen, Roberto Soldado, Paulinho, Hugo Lloris or Kyle Walker either. It requires you or me, and if we're lucky, Tom Carroll.
The only thing worth watching on Thursday is who plays and if anyone gets hurt. Spurs could use the match to get Sandro, Lewis Holtby and Younes Kaboul further match fit and with the North London Derby three days later, the team needs to stay fit.
What else is there to watch? Nothing, the tie is over.
But the Dinamo manager does still have a mean bowl cut so well done, sir.
Match date/time: Thursday, 8 p.m. local, 3 p.m. ET
Venue: White Hart Lane, London, England
TV: ITV 4 (U.K.)
