Tottenham Hotspur have officially complete the signing of Spanish International striker Roberto Soldado after the 28 year-old passed his medical this morning. Soldado signed for Tottenham for a club record £26 million and marks then culmination of Spurs' lengthy pursuit of a striker. He is expected to be available for the club's next friendly against Espanyol on August 10.

Soldado scored 30 goals in La Liga last season and only Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have scored more La Liga goals in the last three seasons than the former Valencia striker. Tottenham Hotspur, by contrast, got 16 goals from strikers Emmanuel Adebayor and Jermain Defoe in 2012/13. The addition of Soldado will hopefully add a considerable amount of punch to the Tottenham attack, despite any departures that may occur between now and the end of the window.
