The international break is finally over and Tottenham Hotspur are playing an actual game that means something. Norwich City make the trip to White Hart Lane, which, if I remember correctly, is actually the closest ground to Norwich in the Premier League. The Canaries have had an up and down start to the season opening with an impressive draw against Everton, losing to newly promoted Hull the next week, and then bouncing back to defeat an impressive Southampton side just before the international break.
Both teams will be featuring many new players, though most of Norwich's have ben playing with the squad through the early parts of the season. Here's how each of the respective teams will be lining up.
Our line-up - Lloris; Walker, Dawson, Vertonghen, Rose; Dembele, Paulinho; Townsend, Eriksen, Sigurdsson; Soldado. #THFC— Tottenham Hotspur (@SpursOfficial) September 14, 2013
Our subs today - Friedel, Kaboul, Naughton, Holtby, Lamela, Sandro, Defoe. #THFC— Tottenham Hotspur (@SpursOfficial) September 14, 2013
Christian Eriksen and Gylfi Sigurdsson are both in the starting lineup, making me wonder just how this formation will shape up. Probably 4-2-3-1 with Eriksen wide on the left and Gylfi playing behind Roberto Soldado. It's interesting that Sandro doesn't start, but at least he and Kaboul are one the bench.
It looks like 4-4-1-1 from Chris Hughton's club with Elmander playing just behind van Wolfswinkel. Tottenham's defense will have to be sharp to limit opportunities for them.
The match kicks off at 3:00 PM local time (10:00 AM ET). It can be seen live in the UK on Absolute Radio (which is a horrible name for a television channel), in the US on Premier League Extra Time or NBC Sports Live Extra, and in Canada on TSN.ca. As always, remember to be respectful and don't link to illegal streams. I want to spend my time watching this match, not moderating you lot.
