Tottenham Hotspur probably signed too many players in attacking midfield roles over the last two transfer windows, and if The Mirror is to be believed, yet another one wants out. We've heard rumors about a potential Lewis Holtby exit and a potential loan for Erik Lamela, but everyone's favorite tabloid says that Nacer Chadli is also eyeing up the exit door.
It's a throwaway portion of a larger transfer story with no quotes, but it's the first we've heard from a major outlet about Chadli looking to leave.
And Belgian Nacer Chadli, who has started only one game since Tim Sherwood took over from sacked Andre Villas-Boas, is also keen to seek first-team action elsewhere.
Like Holtby, Chadli has struggled to make a sustained impact despite arriving with a big reputation.
He was already struggling to get time in a team that didn't feature Andros Townsend, Erik Lamela and Gylfi Sigurdsson. They'll all be back from injury shortly. He very well might be the odd man out.
Obviously this isn't much to go on yet, but don't be stunned if we hear about his agent leaking quotes to the Belgian media in the next few days. Chadli probably has aspirations to start for Belgium at the World Cup, but that's not going to happen if he's not getting first team football. It's tough to see him becoming first choice at Spurs in the near future.
