Napoli sporting director heading to London for talks with Spurs?

Tottenham Hotspur are apparently serious enough about ditching Etienne Capoue that they're willing to meet with Napoli sporting director Riccardo Bigon.

It appears that the rumors about Etienne Capoue potentially making a move to Napoli have legs. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, who you might remember from his very extensive coverage of the Gareth Bale and Erik Lamela transfer sagas, Napoli sporting director Riccardo Bigon is on his way to London to negotiate with Tottenham Hotspur over the potential transfer of Capoue.

Why Spurs are entertaining the transfer of Capoue, I still don't quite understand. Sandro has been injured off and on since recovering from his ACL tear and is currently not fit. If Capoue departs, Sandro will be the only true defensive midfielder left in the squad.

It's obvious that Tim Sherwood prefers active box-to-box players and technical midfielders to true holders, but it's probably still a good idea to have one in reserve. Capoue was also excellent in his one league start under Tim Sherwood, a 2-1 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Hopefully Bigon has other business in London and Di Marzio's information is spotty. I'm vehemently opposed to selling Capoue midway through his first season at a break even price, especially considering the lack of other players in his position. Spurs are loaded in the center of midfield, but they're not exactly loaded with players like Capoue.
