Two Tottenham Hotspur legends reportedly hurt in car crash

This is bad news, but it seems like Osvaldo Ardiles and Ricky Villa are okay.

Tottenham Hotspur legends Osvaldo Ardiles and Ricky Villa have been injured in a car crash in the Falkland Islands, according to various reports. The BBC has quotes from Ardiles' son, Pablo, who says that both Ossie and Villa, along with his bother Freddie, who was also involved in the accident, are okay.

"My understanding is he is fine. He has 20 odd stitches in his head and my understanding is he has been hospitalised overnight. But he's fine. Ricky Villa and my brother were out there but they are OK and are back in the hotel. I don't know the exact details, but I understand my dad was driving and that he lost control somehow. I've heard reports he swerved to avoid a sheep but I can't confirm that. The main thing is he is fine, they are all OK."

Obviously it's not good to hear that anyone, and especially a 61-year-old man, got into a serious car accident that required stitches, but it's good that they're not in a more serious condition. The government of the Falkland Islands also released a statement on the accident, without the names of the passengers.

"Thankfully, due to the fast action of our rescue services and the British forces, they were successfully evacuated to hospital in Stanley, where their injuries were assessed. Three members of the party remained in hospital overnight for observations and further treatment, and the remaining four were released from hospital following treatment for minor injuries."

For those who are unfamiliar with these two Spurs greats, here's a refresher. Get well soon, Ossie, Ricky and Freddie.
