For those who have been hoping Tottenham Hotspur would sign a striker, here's a massive rumor. Diego Cora of ESPN is reporting that Tottenham Hotspur are one of three clubs that have bid for Manchester United striker 'Chicharito' Javier Hernandez.
Los dirigentes del Tottenham presentarian una oferta por el mexicano Chicharito Hernandez. Javier con 3 posibles destinos Spurs, Monaco, ATM

If you're wondering why someone from ESPN Deportes would have information on a transfer from Manchester United to Tottenham Hotspur, they're usually very well connected in Mexican soccer circles. Their employees often nail Mexican international transfer stories before other outlets. However, I am not familiar with Cora. He's verified and followed by legitimate Mexican soccer media, but I do not recall coming across his reporting before.
In any event, if true, this presents an interesting dilemma for Hernandez. He's likely to make the most money at Monaco, but he will be taking a step down in competition and could find himself riding pine again once Falcao is healthy. At Atletico Madrid, he might be a backup for the rest of this season, but he'll become their star before long given David Villa's age and Diego Costa's release clause. At Spurs, he should have every opportunity to supplant Roberto Soldado, but it looks like Tim Sherwood could be making a shift away from 4-4-2. His wages will probably be higher at Spurs than they would be at Atleti, though given Atleti's willingness to engage in third party shenanigans, they might get an agent or sponsor to chip in quite a bit.
