The pressure is on Tottenham Hotspur to deliver something on Wednesday following the previous day's results, but they'll be underdogs at home against Manchester City. Everyone remembers the 6-0 beating Spurs took at the hands of City at the Ethiad Stadium, and it would be nice to avoid a repeat of that result.
Andros Townsend and Erik Lamela are the only two Tottenham players missing out for sure, though Tim Sherwood was less than optimistic about Sandro and Paulinho playing a part. That could be misdirection, but it would be surprising to see either start. He said that Jan Vertonghen and Younes Kaboul are just about fully fit, but it would be stunning to see Kaboul make a return in this game.
City have plenty of injury issues of their own. Alvaro Negredo is fit after sustaining a recent shoulder injury while David Silva should at least make the bench after recovering from a hamstring problem. James Milner, Javi Garcia and Samir Nasri are all out.
Projected Spurs lineup: Lloris; Rose, Vertonghen, Dawson, Walker; Bentaleb; Chadli, Eriksen, Dembele, Lennon; Adebayor
Why change it? This lineup looked great against Swansea -- or at least 10/11ths of it did. Vlad Chiriches has been solid, but if Vertonghen is fit, he should start. Sherwood hedged a bit on Tuesday, but indicated that he was close to a return. It wouldn't be surprising if he was close to being ready for the last two games and he was held out to be fit for this one, given that his initial timetable set his return at around the Manchester United game.

Manuel Pellegrini has hinted that Stevan Jovetic could be City's fill-in on the left wing while Milner, Nasri and Silva are struggling with injury problems. He's closer to that than a striker anyway.
