Dimitar Berbatov has long been rumored with a move away from Fulham, but with the Cottagers nearing the capture of at least one new striker in the transfer window, it finally seems as though Berbatov will be allowed to move clubs. Fulham are close to bringing Kostas Mitroglou from Olympiacos to Craven Cottage and it seems like Berbatov will be allowed to leave.
Several Premier League clubs, most notably North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal, are interested in the 32 year-old whose contract expires in June. Berbatov played two season at White Hart Lane from 2006 to 2008 and was an integral part of the Tottenham Hotspur team that won the 2007 League Cup.
Berbatov is aging, but he's still capable of moments of magic and would be an excellent backup for Emmanuel Adebayor. The eventual departure of Jermain Defoe makes having another senior striker very important, especially if Tim Sherwood wants to play with two strikers from time to time. My only concern with adding Berbatov would be his wages, but if there's enough room in the budget to accomodate him then I would happily take him back.
