Scratch one forward off Spurs' wish list

Until next window, Chich.

Clive Mason

Tottenham Hotspur have been one of the many clubs linked to Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez, but he won't be making a move to White Hart Lane or anywhere else this January. The player's agent told ESPN Deportes that Chicharito will be staying with Manchester United, at least until the summer.

Most interestingly, he says there were no hard offers for the striker, only rumors, speculation and interest.

Note: the following has been translated from ESPN Deportes' interview, which is in Spanish.

There are many rumors about Javier. They never stop ... yesterday I was in Manchester, I met with the chairman of Manchester and everything the rumors say is false. There is no hope or situation present as such. Javier is considered among the most important players at Manchester.

Javier Hernandez will not leave Manchester in the next six months, then we do not know what will happen.

If you were on the Chicharito to Tottenham bandwagon, you're going to have to hop off now and wait until June to start driving it again.

The quest for a third striker continues, unless Tim Sherwood is all-in on Harry Kane, in which case all is well. Oh, and there's that whole left back thing. And center back thing.

Happy transfer deadlining!
