Manchester United is going to make a late swoop for Andros Townsend, according to the Sun. Let deadline day begin!
This sounds like a completely plausible thing, but with it popping up the day of the deadline and nothing on it beforehand, more than likely this is the Sun making things up. Or not. Who knows at this point? Spurs are apparently selling everyone and buying no one so who even knows what's real anymore.
The Sun say that David Moyes tried to snag Townsend on loan for Everton last season so this is just continued interest from the now-United boss.
The Townsend link comes as the Nani to Spurs rumors pick up, although Inter Milan are also supposedly in on the Portuguese winger. If Spurs are able to nip ahead of Inter, maybe the Red Devils can send Nani to White Hart Lane with Townsend heading north to Old Trafford.
Wait, what am I saying? That would be stupid and if there is any swap at all, it better come with a fat sack of cash to Spurs.
ABORT, ABORT: Do not send Townsend to United.
