Spurs winger to Swansea on loan?

Nacer Chadli could exit in a bid to get more playing time.

Steve Bardens

According to Sky Sports News, Swansea City are in negotiations to sign Nacer Chadli on loan from Tottenham Hotspur. Tim Sherwood denied the story earlier, but he's going to deny every story all day. Sky's reporter on the scene in Swansea says that the Swans are still trying to secure Chadli until the end of the season.

In the event that Sherwood rates Gylfi Sigurdsson, Aaron Lennon, Erik Lamela and Andros Townsend ahead of Chadli, it would make sense to loan him out. Obviously, it's tough to tell whether or not that's the case, but it's easy to envision a scenario in which Chadli plays very little for the rest of the season.

Chadli might become Swansea's best winger instantly and would certainly have a great opportunity to start every match, but Swansea aren't lacking for bodies at the position. They have Nathan Dyer, Wayne Routledge, Roland Lamah and Pablo Hernandez, plus attacking midfielder Alejandro Pozuelo, who has made some appearances in a wide role.

While I'm not going to believe a word that comes out of Sherwood's mouth today, it's tough to see this happening. I'm not sure how much sense it makes for both sides.
