Everyone had a different reaction to Arsenal coming up during the FA Cup draw. While many fans instantly thought 'bring it on', others were less than thrilled with the timing of the North London Derby -- right at the end of a very busy holiday period -- or were not thrilled with being robbed of an opportunity to play all of the kids. But Arsenal are the opponent in front of Tottenham Hotspur, and they're who they'll have to go through if they want to lift the FA Cup.
On the last two occasions that Tottenham have lifted the trophy, they've needed to go through Arsenal to get there. So while this might not be an ideal draw, it could be a sign of glory to come later if Spurs can pull out a victory at Emirates Stadium. If you believe in that sort of thing.
Tottenham's injury list is a long one. All of Sandro, Younes Kaboul, Jan Vertonghen, Paulinho, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Kyle Naughton and Erik Lamela will be missing out. This leaves Spurs thin in multiple positions, but they have enough squad depth that they're not down to bare bones. And considering the recent promotion of Nabil Bentaleb and Milos Vejkovic to the first team, Tim Sherwood actually has some selection dilemmas left.
The Gunners are going to be without Nicklas Bendtner, which is a bigger blow than it sounds, as he's been decent this season. Olivier Giroud is probably out too, so expect to see one of Theo Walcott or Lukas Podolski up top. Mesut Özil will face a late fitness test, while Kieran Gibbs and Aaron Ramsey are out.
