Tottenham Hotspur announces appointment of Paul Mitchell as Head of Recruitment

In what was undoubtedly the worst kept secret in English football, Tottenham Hotspur announced the hiring of Paul Mitchell as Head of Recruitment Wednesday afternoon via their official twitter account.

Paul Mitchell will work with Manager Head Coach Mauricio Pochettino and Director of Football Franco Baldini to identify players that Tottenham Hotspur may wish to sign. It's considered a savvy appointment; Pochettino worked with Mitchell while at Southampton and apparently trusts him implicitly. This development has been known for a long time, but it's taken this long for the paperwork to be signed and the club to formally announce it.
