Saturday football open thread

The weekend is here and with it comes the return of Premier League action. After an exciting week of European thrills, Chelsea and Liverpool kick off our day hoping to embarrass themselves less than they did midweek.

Chelsea will be hoping to turn it around after dropping points to Maribor, and will consider themselves lucky to be facing a midtable side today. Meanwhile Liverpool having given up before the match even started in Madrid look like they've once again waved the white flag with their inclusion of Mario Balotelli.

Besides Liverpool, most of our other top four rivals are in action today as well. Southampton hosts struggling Lester while West Ham takes on Aston Villa newly shorn of Christian Benteke. Meanwhile Manchester United will be hoping their "defense" can contain the mighty Fraizer Campbell as Palace come to town.
