Fresh on the heels of their 4-0 drubbing of Newcastle United in the quarterfinals, Tottenham Hotspur drew League One side Sheffield United in the semi-finals of the Capital One Cup, the draw for which took place just moments after the match ended.
We have been drawn against Sheffield United in the semi-finals of the Capital One Cup (home tie first). Dates TBC. #COYS

This is, for obvious reasons, a spectacular draw for Spurs. While it's a two-legged home-and-home semi-final, they're playing a Sheffield side that is currently fifth in League One, the third tier of English football. Sheffield's not total crap – they're one of the favorites to promote to the Championship this season, and they did just beat Southampton to make it to the semi-finals – but Tottenham are clearly massive favorites to win over a two-legged fixture. Tottenham won't be overlooking United, but they should feel very good about their chances of making it to Wembley.
Meanwhile, Liverpool drew a home date with Chelsea, which is schadenfreude of a most incredible and awesome kind. You've got to put Chelsea as the favorites, but it's possible (though unlikely) that Jose Mourinho could refuse to give a f**k and play a rotated side. Given the choice, I'd much rather see Spurs play Liverpool in a cup final than Chelsea, wouldn't you?
The silverware is there, everyone. Can you taste it? I can taste it.
