Tottenham Hotspur probably expected to beat Norwich City on Sunday, but instead, looked a lot like a team that got a pre-game motivational speech from Delia Smith. Everything about their performance was awful and they deserved to lose by a much wider margin than the 1-0 final score.
The first half was abysmal in both directions, leading most to guess that the second half would probably be a bit better. Then Robert Snodgrass scored in the 47th minute. Danny Rose gave the ball away to start the move, then lost Snodgrass when the ball was served into him. Also, Michael Dawson kept Snodgrass onside because of course he did.
Spurs brought on Roberto Soldado in the 65th minute. He had the team's two best chances less than five minutes after coming on. He botched both of them horribly.
The last 10 minutes were a hilarious display of ineptitude in every phase of play for Spurs as they conceded chance after chance to Norwich while failing to threaten John Ruddy. Spurs finished the game with just two shots on target.
Also, Etienne Capoue left this game injured, Rose looked limpy when he came off and Christian Eriksen didn't play at all because reasons.
I'll take a day before I comment further, but if you want to fire everyone associated with the club and sell half the players, I really don't blame you.
