Do you feel like Tim Sherwood has been a bit more defensive and outlandish than usual over the last few weeks? It's probably because he's now extra super sure he's not keeping his job. The first we've heard about an official approach by Tottenham Hotspur for Ajax boss Frank de Boer was today, but apparently that approach isn't new. David Ornstein of the BBC says they first approached Ajax nearly a month ago.
#Ajax confirm to @BBCSport Tottenham approached DoF Marc Overmars 3/4 weeks ago over Frank de Boer. #Thfc declining to comment #bbcfootball

It's not terribly surprising that Daniel Levy has been proactive about this. It's been clear for quite some time that Sherwood was not a serious candidate to keep his job for next season.
I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that Levy's just covering all of his bases and has probably made calls to other clubs/agents as well, but it does certainly look like de Boer's the guy, and I'm feeling good about it.
