Tottenham Hotspur vs. Aston Villa: Final score 3-0 in a nice sendoff

Spurs are headed to Europa League and got to close out the season on a high note.

Tottenham Hotspur were disappointing this season and might sack their manager soon, but they got to close out the season in impressive fashion on Sunday. Aston Villa looked like they couldn't really be bothered to do anything at White Hart Lane, allowing Spurs to notch a pretty comfortable 3-0 win.

Paulinho scored the opening goal 14 minutes in at the end of a gorgeous move. Christian Eriksen, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Harry Kane were all involved, with the latter touching the ball into Paulinho's path for him to rip a shot at Brad Guzan. His initial effort was saved, but he scored on the follow-up.

With about 10 minutes to go in the first half, Aston Villa decided to fall apart. Nathan Baker headed a cross by Danny Rose into his own goal in the 35th minute and Gabriel Agbonlahor blocked a Sandro shot with his arm just two minutes later, leading to a penalty which Emmanuel Adebayor converted.

The second half was considerably less eventful, with both teams looking pretty content to wait out the last 45 minutes of the season. There were cameos for Milos Veljkovic, Nabil Bentaleb and Alex Pritchard, though, so obviously Tim Sherwood reads this site.
