There's a new name in the Tottenham Hotspur manager rumor mill: Leonardo Jardim.
The Sporting Lisbon manager is on Spurs' radar, according to RTP Noticias. The outlet says that Jardim is also being looked at by AS Monaco, which isn't too much of a surprise. Jardim is one of the brighter young managers in Europe, having led Sporting to second place in his first season at the club, after taking over a seventh place squad. The year before, he had Olympiakos 10 points clear in the league being controversially fired.
It's not as if Jardim is without downside. While it wasn't clear what exactly led to him being relieved of his duties at Olympiakos, he did quit his previous job at Braga because of issues with the club president. At some level, he is not the easiest manager to deal with, but he is very good.
Jardim has toyed with a couple different formations, but he generally likes to play in a 4-3-3, which would be a great fir for Sandro and Paulinho. It would also work for Christian Eriksen, Erik Lamela and Nacer Chadli, so from an ideological standpoint, Jardim makes sense with the available talent.
So there's another name in the mix. Make of that what you will.
