Today is not Marc Wilmots' day. Team news is out for Tottenham Hotspur's final match of the season against Aston Villa, and it is not kind to the team's Belgian contingent. All of Nacer Chadli, Mousa Dembele and Jan Vertonghen will miss the game due to injuries. None of their ailments are expected to keep them out into the second week of June, but the fact that they're hurt at all right now makes Wilmots' job a bit harder. Still, I expect all three of them to make the preliminary Belgium squad.
Andros Townsend and Kyle Walker are still out as well, which isn't surprising. Townsend will miss the World Cup for sure, while Roy Hodgson has a very difficult decision to make about Walker -- especially considering how blah Glen Johnson has been lately. The Southampton right backs might be in serious contention for England.
There's also the case of Erik Lamela, who is still out and certainly out of the Argentina setup. Get better and have a kickass preseason, buddy. We'll need you next year.
To go along with all that bad news, there's some good news! Etienne Capoue is fit and could play his first match since February. Given that Dembele and Chadli are out, while Tim Sherwood has an odd vendetta against Sandro, he might play.
