Spurs' 2014-15 Fixture List Released

Ugh, West Ham

Paul Gilham

The Premier League released the 2014-15 Fixture list today and boy doesn't this just look like a bucket of fun? After a preseason tour of America and two friendlies against Celtic and Schalke, we will begin our season away at the Boelyn Ground to West Ham United. Ugh. Get ready to roll your eyes and block half of twitter, I guess.

On the one hand, the Hammers beat us three time last year and have kept us from making Cup Final jokes about them for at least a little while. On the other, this gives Pochettino an early opportunity to endear himself to Spurs fans by washing some of the bad taste of last season out of our mouth. And if the fact that beating Frodo's club of choice is such an achievement doesn't give you an idea of what a low bar our new manager has to clear, I don't know what will.

Other early fixtures of note include Harry's return to the Lane for our first home match of the season and an encounter with Liverpool at home to end the first month of the season. Mercifully, the first North London Derby isn't until the end of September, but it is away, so boo.

Spurs' in house commentator also shared another quirk of this year's schedule on twitter:

Let's all hope this season goes better than the last one.
