Bayern's Julian Green on Tottenham's radar

GUYS! YOU GUYS! GUYS! GUISE! AMERICA!

Guys. Hey, you guys. Guys! GUYS. Guess what? This is really exciting! The Metro is reporting that our own beloved Tottenham Hotspur is considering making a £5m bid for German-American starlet Julian Green ZOMG!!!!!!1!11!ELEVEN

Yep, this is the same Julian Green that is just got named to the US Men's National Team World Cup squad. The very same 18-year old winger who was the top scorer for Bayern Munich's reserve team last summer and was tapped as The Future™ by USA coach Jurgen Klinsmann.

We are an American blog staffed entirely by Americans writing about an English football team. I'm supposed to be objective and look at the validity of the story. If I were going to do that, I would state that not only is Julian Green far from a finished product, he is probably not going to be in Tottenham Hotspur's first-team plans next season.

I'd say that £5m is a very good price for a young player of Julian Green's caliber, but there are some questions about him and his game. I'd also say that if the signing were to happen would he would likely go on loan to somewhere he can get a lot of playing time.  He's one of those players whom we don't know how good he'll be next year: he could be good enough to be a bench player, or it might take him a year or two to get to EPL level.

Also, despite his presence on the USA men's national team in Brazil this summer, the odds that he gets any match time is pretty slim based on the strength of the USA's group. He's there as a warm body and as an emergency injury sub.

Also, I'd say that this is the Metro, and the Metro is #batcountry. That's what I'd say.

But you know what? I DON'T CARE. MAKE IT HAPPEN, LEVY! TOTTENHAMERICA!
