John E. Sokolowski-USA TODAY Sports

Happy Friday, Spursland! This is the last Hoddle from me for a week, as I am off on vacation. Next week you will be reading the smooth jazz-like prose of, someone. Be kind.

And now the "news"

McEvoy Goes On Loan To Peterborough- BBC

When this news first broke in the writers room ,I was noticeably distressed, because Menno busted in and just said "Hey can someone write up that McEvoy was sent on loan." I may have taken that the wrong way because my response was more along the lines of "HOLY SHIT, WHAT IS ACN DOING? DID THEY LOAN HIM TO FOX? MSNBC? AND WHAT ABOUT MACKENZIE, AND MORE IMPORTANTLY JIM AND ALL THOSE GIRLS HE DATES THAT ARE SO CLEARLY BETTER THAN MAGGIE. IS SLOAN EVER GOING TO GET WITH DON?" And right about here was when it dawned on me that Menno probably wasn't leaking spoilers from Newsroom.

How The Title Contenders Might Line Up- Telegraph

Well that was generous of them to include us.

Lampard Officially Signs With Alphabet Soup- SB Nation Soccer

I can wait for his first game in DC at RFK. He is going to be so filled with regret at his decision to come to America when he sees the locker room.

Howard Impressed With MLS, But Won't Return- SB Nation Soccer

And why would he? He has his money, presumably has saved and invested well, and he is going to end his career at the highest level. I would love to know what his inner monologue was when asked that question. I bet he was like, "shit I get bored enough stopping Wondolowski's shots at USMNT training camp, an eight-month season where he is one of the more interesting opponents? ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ".

The NFL Doesn't Care About You, Ladies- SB Nation

I don't agree with this, but it is worth a read.

P.S. - Ray Rice is an ass, I just don't think the NFL doesn't care about its number one fastest growing demographic of fans. I think the NFL, in general, is run by a bunch of idiots who don't care about social commentary until it costs them one red cent. Which is good because if I need to look to the throwball people for moral and ethical leadership then my society is doomed and I can't wait for the Huns to invade.
