Tottenham Hotspur vs. AEL: Final score 3-0, Spurs easily into Europa League

Tottenham Hotspur have qualified for Europa League, and in pretty simple fashion. They defeated AEL 3-0 at White Hart Lane on Thursday and never looked like they'd concede a goal. The entire defense was great, but they didn't have much to do either.

Kyle Naughton drew a penalty just 6 minutes into the game when he got cleaned out by AEL goalkeeper Karim Fegrouche, who injured himself on the play and had to leave the game. Unfortunately, Harry Kane wasn't able to convert from the penalty spot, but he'd go on to redeem himself.

Just before halftime, Kane put Spurs up on the night by finishing off a nice quick move, with Mousa Dembele providing the assist. AEL's defense was in shambles by the time the ball got to Kane, and he placed a perfect first-time finish into the back of the net from the edge of the box.

Paulinho scored just four minutes into the second half. Dembele made an excellent tackle to win the ball back, Vlad Chiriches, of all people, provided the assist and Paulinho's composed finish was exactly what Spurs were hoping to see a lot of when they spent £17m on him last summer.

The scoring was rounded out by Andros Townsend, off another penalty. A obvious handball by Edmar led the referee to point to the spot a second time, and Townsend blasted past Francisco Romero to make it 3-0.

Spurs could have scored even more -- the second half also featured an Aaron Lennon chip that was cleared off the line and a bicycle kick by Paulinho that was brilliantly saved. It was an excellent performance, with the midfield three of Dembele, Paulinho and Sandro stealing the show.
