Tottenham Hotspur v. Arsenal: Lineups and match thread

It's time for everybody's favorite and least favorite fixture: the North London Derby

Paul Gilham

Get ready for another edition of the greatest derby in the world (suck it, El Clasico). Today Tottenham Hotspur heads to the Emirates to do battle with our hated nemesis. Spurs supporters will be hoping the midweek victory over Nottingham Forest in the League Cup means Pochettino's men are finally rounding into form. Arsenal are coming off the back of elimination on the Cup, but last weekend they swept aside an Aston Villa team who'd begun the season in good form.

Today sees Pochettino ring some major changes, as Cup hero Ryan Mason gets handed his Premier League debut and Jan Vertonghen returns to the back line, much to everyone's relief. Kyle Naughton also comes in for Eric Dier at right back.

The big surprise for Arsenal is that the summer's big fancy signing, and probable best player, Alexis Sanchez starts the match on the bench. Last week he was dropped from the lineup right before kickoff and was one of the few first teamers to feature in their Cup loss on Tuesday. Whatever the reason for Sanchez's sudden and inexplicable marginalization, it's Spurs gain.

Spurs can expect Arsenal to line up in their weird 4-1-4-1 formation with Ozil shoved wide to accomodate Jack Wilshere. Arsenal seem to be doing everything they can ahead of the match to make things easy on us. Which is somehow terrifying.

Stick around and share your thoughts on the match in the comments. Please be civil and try not to abuse our own players or each other.
