Son, Bentaleb, Mason, Dier confirmed out for Spurs vs. Liverpool

That's a lot of injuries.

While we're all enjoying our Tottenham blog takeover of The Short Fuse today, there is actual real-for-sure Spurs news to report, and by God, we're gonna report it too. Apparently, Spurs Nabil Bentaleb and Ryan Mason have not healed sufficiently enough in order to feature against Liverpool and will not play on Sunday.

And it gets better! The same report (the Mail) claims that Son Heung-Min could miss an additional six matches as he continues to rehabilitate from a foot injury he picked up in late September.

Earlier this week it was reported that Spurs were hopeful that one or both of Mason and Bentaleb could feature for a Spurs midfield nigh well decimated by injuries, but that rumor seems to be dead and buried. With Eric Dier suspended for accumulation of yellow cards, it's looking much more likely now that we'll see a midfield pivot of Dele Alli paired with either Mousa Dembele or Tom Carroll.

That's not to say that Liverpool isn't itself banged up. The Daily Star is reporting that neither Roberto Firmino and Christian Benteke will feature as they continue to rehab. And then there's this breaking news tweet from The Guardian's Daniel Taylor this morning:

I feel bad for Ings, certainly. Something tells me Sunday's match is going to be interesting.
