Nacer Chadli went down with what looked like a serious ankle injury in the early minutes of Tottenham Hotspur's draw against Liverpool at White Hart Lane on Saturday, and it now looks like it could be another serious injury blow for Spurs. Tottenham journo Lyall Thomas tweeted this after the match:
Nacer Chadli has possible ankle ligament damage. To be assessed over next 48 hours. Could be another injury blow... #THFC #Tottenham

That... doesn't sound good. Obviously we're not doctors and we won't know more until we get an official statement from the club, but it didn't look good on the pitch and it looks like Chadli might be set for an extended spell on the sidelines.
Chadli was subbed off for new signing Clinton N'Jie who overcame a shaky start to put in a solid shift for Spurs. Chadli's injury would be yet another blow to Spurs' midfield, which has been decimated this season. The good news is that Ryan Mason and Nabil Bentaleb appear close to returning to fitness, which will help.
With Chadli out, Clinton would be a natural replacement, though it's possible that Poche might consider pushing Christian Eriksen out wide and playing Mousa Dembele into the #10 position, especially with Eric Dier returning to the lineup next week. We'll have to see how long Chadli is out and what Poche will do. Either way, rats.
