Happy Thursday, Spurs-land. I miss club football already, and we're not even to the international fixtures. Why does this happen to us? What crime have we, the soccerati, committed that we're subjected to this nightmare what feels like every couple of weeks? And now we'll be subjected to endless Klopp Talk™ until the inevitable #narrative match against Liverpool next weekend. Ugh.
And now, the "news."
Jurgen Klopp rejected an offer to manage Tottenham | Bild
The German daily says that Klopp, before agreeing to manage Liverpool, rejected an offer from Tottenham. Don't panic -- we probably weren't going to dump Poche for Klopp, since the article doesn't say WHEN we made and he rejected this offer. So nobody panic!
Harry Kane responded to a six-year old asking him to play soccer with him | Mirror
D'awwwwwwwww! I suggest we petition Hodgson to get Harry excused. I think this kickabout is much more important than a meaningless international match against Estonia.
Redknapp: Why did it take so long for England to notice Dele Alli? | Evening Standard
Harry's got a point, and we've made it too. If Alli is the best (and he is), how is it that he was barely capped at the England U21 and U20 levels up until now? Makes no sense.
Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini suspended by FIFA over corruption allegations | SBN Soccer
... For 90 days. This is the "yellow card accumulation" of FIFA hegemony suspensions. Yawn. Wake me when there's real change.
