Happy Wednesday, Spursland!
Additionally, aside from wishing you all a happy day in general, I want to give a shout out to veterans in the U.S. for Veterans Day and a shout out to the appropriate people in the UK and beyond for Armistice Day and Remembrance Day. Seriously, how many holidays are in this holiday?
As for continuing discourse on the day or military issues, I am far from a gun-toting Hawk, but realize that respect should be given where it is due. Props to those that served or continue to do so. Let's please leave any divisive politics on the issue outside of our comments. Thank you.
And now to tie it back to Spurs!
Let's have ourselves an old fashioned nostalgia party--a day of different remembrances, less important, but still fun.
Where were you when watched, found out, heard, etc. that Crouchy put home a header and that we were going to Champions League? Or, if you are a newer fan, where were you when (insert all the same things) you found out Harry headed home the go ahead goal last year versus Woolwich?
For the first one I was at work following a game thread on the official site. I died a little when I saw that Ledley had one called back because of a foul, and nearly lost my mind when I finally saw that little ball appear next to a match description in our favor. It was my prep period and there were only two kids in the room, but they were definitely alarmed by me spontaneously fist pumping the air.
I have no good segue for that so...
And now for the "news":
Erik says Tottenham can take Chelsea's place in the top four| Express
Or he just says we're better than we have been and need to keep winning because Chelsea may not sleepwalk forever. Headlines don't need to be accurate, though, when you're a rag.
Spurs are monitoring a Championship level striker| Football League World
See what I did there?
Ben Davies doesn't think Wales need Bale and Ramsey to prove their quality| Glasgow Evening Times
Which is fortunate because nobody thinks you're quality without them. This seems to be taken care of on both sides then? Lovely.
Cristiano biopic is an advert| SB Nation Soccer
Andi Thomas says great things often but "the man himself stood there with his teeth bared, pumping out selfies like sausages" may be my all time favorite line.
Real America Periscope| SB Nation
Periscope has some level of allure. Share content directly with viewers in real time. However, given to the masses, it's a train wreck. Take a moment, won't you, and stare at the train wreck. It's awful, powerful, and you won't want to look away.
