Happy Thursday, Spursland!
There is no trip to Eastern Europe this Thursday so we instead have to fixate on other things, like the impending transfer window. I, for one, can't stand the January window, which makes zero sense. Why would I think the summer window is good fun only to loathe the upcoming one?
Weather.
I get grumpy this time of year because I don't see the sun and it makes me hate things that should be amusing. To remedy this I am considering making a picture of Son the background image on all my electronic devices just to remind that good things are possible in weather and the transfer window.
If anybody else has ways to be a little more cheerful on a daily basis, please let me know. Winter is coming, and I'd like to not depress you all everyday.
And now for the "news":
Spurs 4-0 Rotherham: FA Youth Cup
The next round of youngsters, including highly touted Marcus Edwards, started off the competition with a bang. Well done.
Tottenham losing the race for Wembley to Chelsea| The Sports Bank
This is funny because it implies that Chelsea are capable of doing something in a quick, interesting fashion.
Andros praised for his U21 display| ESPN
I really don't wish him any ill will, but I'd like to move him early in the window so that we can give playing time to Onomah and Pritchard, when he returns, without stressing about how we need to maintain some transfer value for Townsend. I think most clubs in for him know what they would pay and two decent games in Cup competition shouldn't change that.
Paul Merson thinks Spurs could contend for the title| The Sport Review
Dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria, Merson compliments Tottenham Hotspur. It's all happening, ladies and gentlemen.
Making sense of Gary Neville to Valencia| SB Nation Soccer
Good luck. And I say that with all due respect.
