Happy Wednesday, Spursland!
While Little Bear wastes away on the West Brom bench and reserves, we move one day closer to the final match day in the Europa League. Both of these developments could not be any more strange.
Personally, I think Berahino publicly supporting tweets that question his treatment by the Baggies is a funny development, but I don't have much skin in that transfer saga. He always seemed a luxury buy, and no matter how poorly West Brom have handled the situation, I never really thought he was bound for us.
On the other hand we have the upcoming Europa League fixture with Monaco. What seemed a somewhat trivial match two weeks ago picked up importance as even more big teams have found themselves in the competition. While playing strong competition is inevitable, it would be nice to miss some of the Champions League flameouts, or seeded clubs already in the competition.
Given what is at stake, I wonder how much we will rotate the side. A side which, in my opinion, needs rotating. Nice thing is we won't have to wait long to see.
And now for the "news":
Berahino gets 90 minutes with U21s| Express
Why does this saga feel vaguely familiar to us? No, not because we have a once promising young talent banished to the U21s. It's because Chelsea love stealing our targets. Don't you, Chelsea? I'd say get your own scouts, if the Scousers hadn't trademarked that saying.
Spurs and Reds set to miss out on Lavezzi| Squawka
We are missing out on him the same way that I am missing out on a trip to the Amazon jungle this year. Am I visiting? No. Was it ever planned, discussed, or even actually considered until this moment? No.
Man Utd. in pole positon to sign Harry| Metro
I told you these won't go away.
Neymar the target of crazy bid from Europa League competitor| Daily Star
I'm sure he's always wondered if he could handle the Thursday-Sunday grind.
