The Etienne Capoue to West Bromwich Albion rumors appear to be getting a few more legs under them. Sky Sports television is reporting that Tony Pulis has made the signing of Spurs' French midfielder a top priority.
This is mostly because West Brom have managed to find a buyer for their record signing Brown Ideye. Ideye just joined West Brom in the summer for £10m but has been a spectacular flop at The Hawthorns and is now heading to Al Gharafa in Qatar for just under £4m. This opens a spot for a midfielder, and Pulis has reportedly targeted Capoue as a "prime target" before the window closes. What could scupper the deal according to Sky are Capoue's wages - West Brom are reportedly in discussions to see if they can overcome Capoue's wage demands.
Capoue is on the fringes of Mauricio Pochettino's squad and reportedly not in the Argentine manager's favor. Capoue isn't a player that fits in well in Poche's system, but he could do quite well in a Tony Pulis-managed side. Capoue isn't the only player Pulis is looking at; other reports have him possibly bidding for Carleton Cole.
