Aaron Lennon had been linked with a loan move to Everton earlier in the transfer window, usually tied to Everton selling Kevin Mirallas to Spurs. That deal seemed to be falling by the wayside as Lennon had been linked to such places as Hull and Stoke City.
NOT SO FAST, MY FRIENDS.
Looks increasingly like the player most likely to join Everton on loan is Aaron Lennon.

It was looking like Mirallas wouldn't be sold in this window, but Everton are also linked with the return of Tim Cahill, who has left MLS side New York Red Bulls by mutual consent. If Everton can loan Aaron Lennon (presumably with an option to buy) and can get Cahill back on a free, that could potentially free up Mirallas for a last-minute move to Spurs.
That's a lot of dominos to topple and not a lot of time left to get everything done. Plus, y'know, transfer rumor. But this would be a wonderfully awesome last-minute Daniel Levy rabbit-out-of-hat transfer if Spurs can pull it off.
