Good news if you're a Tottenham Hotspur fan! Manchester United winger Ashley Young is likely to miss this Sunday's match against Spurs due to an injury, according to Tom Collomosse at the Evening Standard.
Young has been playing well for United lately but picked up a knock in last weekend's FA Cup game against Arsenal. Reports are that he is unlikely to be fit in time to face Spurs.
In addition to Young, Angel Di Maria is suspended and won't feature against Spurs. Radamel Falcao and Rafael may or may not feature after both played in a Manchester United U21 match against Tottenham's U21 squad on Tuesday.
Here's the part where I say that we never cheer for injured players, but every little bit helps, right? Spurs have won their last two matches at Old Trafford, winning 2-1 last January and 3-2 in September, 2012. Spurs are also coming off of two morale-boosting league wins, meaning they have a head of steam heading into Sunday's match. However, Louis Van Gaal's club is unbeaten in its last eight matches, is currently third in the EPL table, and is 11-1-2 at home this year. It should be a given that any match at Old Trafford will be a difficult one, but a win at Old Trafford would put Spurs and United level on points and would give Spurs a real boost in their quest for Champions League football.
