Not sure how we missed this on Friday, but 20-year old Spurs U21 stalwart and former academy player Grant Ward has been loaned to League One side Coventry City until the end of the season.
You might remember that Ward was loaned to the Chicago Fire during last season's MLS campaign. He appeared 23 times for the Fire, scoring one goal. It was quite possibly one of the reasons why Spurs went to Chicago on their preseason tour of North America last summer. He returned to Spurs at the conclusion of the MLS season, but is clearly not in Mauricio Pochettino's plans in the EPL, so he's back in the English lower divisions.
Ward is a midfielder who is comfortable both as a #10 and on the wing. He's heading to a Coventry side that is struggling in League One and is just two points above the relegation zone. And, in fact, he was slotted straight into the Sky Blues' starting lineup this past weekend, nabbing an assist (but deflecting in an opposition goal) in Coventry's 3-2 win against Chesterfield.
