Happy Monday Spursland! And oh ho hum, gee wilickers, gosh darn it. Yes we lost. But it would be good to remember that this is a true transition year for us, we weren't supposed to be this good. Yes I wanted to win. Yes it sucks that we lost, but It's not the end of the world. I mean it's not that bad, it's that time of the year where Reese's comes out with those giant egg shaped peanut butter cups. How bad could your life possibly be with that out in the world? Full disclosure: I ate two of them this weekend. [Editor's note: I ate three.]
And now the "news"
Yes, it is shocking news that spurs tried t sign the most talented (and he is exceedingly talented) guy on the market. It's scandalous that they tried to recruit the best guy for the job.
You know what, even at 48 years for Hull city that isn't that bad. Think about how Cubs fans feel. I think just for there to be any semblance of parity in sport you really want to get a least one winner in each fan's life, should they live a reasonable amount of time, say 50-55. Gotta give them one.
Remember when we were trying really hard to sign this boob?
The EA guys working on next year's FIFA just started cursing knowing they now need to reconfigure the controls to see if they can make this an option in the game.
I could go on about this forever, but I'll leave that for the experts over at BloodyElbow. So let me just say this: the UFC put on one of the biggest PPV's of the year and it was headlined by two women's fights. Meanwhile distant cousin WWE refuses to give it's ladies story lines more maturity than 13 year old camp pranks and give them around 90 seconds of ring time for a longer match. I assume it's because they don't think women can draw unless they are pretending to be lesbians and not actual performers. And you'd think that comparing the two is outlandish, but the king of explaining pro wrestling, Jim Cornette, has said for years: "The most successful pro wrestling company in the world today is the UFC."
