Tottenham's Adebayor linked with summer transfer to Bursaspor

One of the first names linked to a move away from Tottenham Hotspur this summer is Togolese striker Emmanuel Adebayor. Unsurprising, since he's been underperforming for the better part of two seasons in a Spurs shirt (barring during the Tim Sherwood Era), can't get on the pitch under Mauricio Pochettino, and is on incredibly expensive wages.

Bursaspor is ready to open a new stadium next season, and club president Recep Bölükbaşı is interested in investing some serious money for an improved squad. "The new stadium will bring in a star," he told LigTV, and supposedly Adebayor's name is at the top of the list.

Ade's been linked to other Turkish clubs in the past, most notably Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray last summer. A move to Turkey is possibly the most logical destination for Ade during the twilight years of his career: Turkish football is still competitive, he'd have a chance at Champions League football, and the top Turkish clubs are able to afford wages at or near what Adebayor would likely demand.

Despite Pochettino's repeated comments to the media over the past few months, it's clear that Ade no longer has a future at Tottenham. The sooner that he can be shipped off somewhere, the sooner Spurs can do something more important with that money. Like give Harry Kane a raise, or finance the NDP.

Let's also talk about Bursaspor's new stadium, though. Bursaspor's team nickname is "The Green Crocodiles" and they seriously have just about the coolest and wackiest new stadium design I've ever seen. You can actually walk through a crocodile's mouth as you enter the stadium! Seriously, how cool is that? Surely Adebayor would be willing to take a pay cut just so he can get regular playing time IN A FREAKIN' STADIUM SHAPED LIKE A CROCODILE, right?
