When Spurs bought the contract of Dele Alli from Milton Keynes they knew they were getting a talented young player. Well now he has the hardware to back it up. The 19 year old midfielder has been named the 2015 Football League Young Player of the Year.
Alli has been at the heart of Keynes' team this year, netting 15 goals and 5 assists, bringing them to third place in League One. His form helped earn him a transfer to Spurs and now it has enabled him beat out promising players such as Middlesbrough's Patrick Bamford and Norwich City's Nathan Redmond for this honor.
While it's probably too early to get carried away and start writing Alli onto next year's team sheet, his season has been encouraging. He's done everything you want to see a 19 year old do in League One and then some. The only question now is where do Spurs see as the best spot to continue his development next season? On loan in the Championship? On loan in the Premier League? Logging minutes for Spurs? Driving Paulinho to Turin? Only time will tell.
