It's one of the most iconic images from the Bill Nicholson era at Tottenham Hotspur – the photo of Nicholson himself standing at the wrought-iron gates of White Hart Lane in the 1960s. Countless Spurs fans have passed through those same gates on their way into the stadium to watch Spurs play. With the development of Tottenham's new stadium now well underway, Spurs announced today that the "Bill Nicholson Way Gates" will be incorporated into the new stadium design.

The gates will be taken down at the end of this season and put into storage as the stadium construction begins. Fans will be given the opportunity to stop by White Hart Lane and pose with the gates before they are taken down and stored.
It's good to have acknowledgement that the gates will be reincorporated into the new stadium's design in some fashion. This is a nice way of having a tangible link to Spurs' history and White Hart Lane as the club marches into a new era with a new stadium.
