The Premier League released its free transfer list today, and Tottenham Hotspur have released a total of seven players including three goalkeepers and a once-promising attacking midfielder.

Spurs released goalkeepers Brad Friedel (who retired from competition to take up a broadcasting and Spurs Ambassador career), Jordan Archer, and Jonathan Miles. Defenders Bongani Khumalo, who only yesterday confirmed he was leaving the club through his agent,  and Alexander McQueen, midfielder Cristian Ceballos, and right back Aaron McEneff were also released and will pursue their football elsewhere.

There are some interesting names on the free transfer list from other clubs: Ron Vlaar, whom Spurs were linked to last summer, was cut by Aston Villa; Shola Ameobi and Brede Hangeland were released by Crystal Palace; now-relegated QPR released Bobby Zamora and Karl Henry; Micah Richards was let go by Manchester City; former Hotspur Wilson Palacios was released from Stoke City; Southampton released goalkeeper Artur Boruc; and West Bromwich Albion released Youssuf Mulumbu, Christopher Baird, and Gareth McAuley.

You can read the full free transfer list on the Premier League's website.

As always, this announcement is usually followed by rampant speculation by supporters from all clubs as they think about which players to pick up on a free transfer. Of the now released players, Micah Richards is probably the jewel of the bunch, but there are a few players such as Boruc and Mulumbu that could potentially be useful to Spurs.

Which now free-agent players would you be interested in for Tottenham Hotspur? Share your suggestions in the comments.
