See that video? That's the new FIFA 16 teaser video that was debuted today at the E3 entertainment expo in Los Angeles. And do you know who that important guy is?
No, that's Pelé, you can ignore him. I mean the other guy. The one at 0:26" in stunning high definition video Yep, that's Harry Edward Kane, 30-goal striker, Tottenham legend, time traveller.
EA Sports released the first teaser video for the next version in their FIFA franchise, and Tottenham Hotspur is not only shown, but featured! Harry Kane gets the high resolution close up that he deserves.
Leo Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kun Aguero, Harry Kane. Look at that detail. White Hart Lane in the background, the subtle kit detailing on the shoulder, the mouth ever-so-slightly open. (EA can fix that in a patch, no doubt.) It's certainly an improvement over the FIFA 15 Harry Kane, which looks like it reused the Lewis Holtby model and slapped on Eidur Gudjohnsen's hair.
It's not all goals and glamour shots for Tottenham Hotspur, though. Look closely and you'll see Christian Eriksen get beaten defensively by what looks like a Crystal Palace player (or, maybe, if we're feeling generous, Basel) [0:41"], and Oscar just absolutely schooling Erik Lamela [1:09"].
Which means, really, EA has gotten it pretty much dead to rights. That's so Tottenham.
EA also prominently features the USA women's national team as well, women are finally included in the FIFA flagship. Bravo, EA. You can learn more about FIFA 16 and the new features added in Polygon's preview.
